Inspired by the 2002 version of Mafia, developed by Illusion Softworks.
⠀
I was really surprised and amazed to hear about the Mafia 1 remake by Hangar 13. Mafia (2002) being one of the first games I've ever played on my PC. The game still sticks out to me even after all these years as one of the best games in terms of story telling with an amazing attention to detail.

Most of the assets are made by me with modularity in mind, with some use of Megascans models and materials.
⠀
The project took a few months off and on, utilizing different workflows for props and level design assets. Most assets use tiling textures, with the props having their own texture sheets, made in substance painter. Some of the modular pieces use vertex painting to break up the repetition, as well as with decals.

The scene is set in the 1930s in the prohibition era. It shows a peek into one of the two crime families that are controlling the city, each owning a half of the city. Here we see the Morello family's hideout, with a bar displaying illegal liquor, showing a clear control and a lack of enforcement in their part of the city.
⠀
My first project where I made most of the assets from scratch. Learned a lot from the experience, especially with modelling, shaders inside UE4 and texturing.
